All Praises and thanks be to Allah SWT. Abundant salutations be upon Nabi Muhammad SAW.
So I have my girl friends, Alhamdulillah, but when I got news tonight there was only one person I wanted to speak to. I phoned without warning and I’m so grateful he answered and was available to take my call. The advice I received was simply:
“Qadarullaah, wa maa shaa-a fa’al” (This is from the decree of Allaah, and He does whatever He wills).” [Muslim]
I had said Alhamdulillah but I completely forgot about this prophetic saying. It brought me complete contentment over my situation. I think that sometimes we go through things so that āyāt or hādīth are brought to life. If that’s all it accomplishes, it’s sufficient. ‘Cause it brings you closer to Allah SWT and His beloved messenger SAW.
By the end of the phone convo I was feeling back to normal. Not just okay, but excited about my life.
Through this episode I’m sitting and reflecting that although I don’t really have fam I’m close to, Allah’s placed a whole bunch of extra special people in my life. Alhamdulillah.
However, I went on to watch a YouTube vid about how Allah SWT should be first and only one we complain to. I’m clearly not there yet. Got a long way to go.
I’m grateful Allah didn’t answer du’as I made a couple of years ago, so hopefully I’ll be able to say the same thing a few years from now.
