I sit on the carpeted floor in my room and I hear the heart stirring thikr coming through my open window from the nearby masjid. I realise that undertaking hifdh has required me to not only sacrifice worldly things, but also good deeds like going to gatherings of thikr, halaqaat and seminars. I remember hearing the taraweeh from my room and yearning to be there but I couldn’t because I had sabaq to learn for the next day. I was advised to rather memorise Qur’an during tahajjud time instead of standing in qiyaam. I remind myself that it will be worth it in the end. Once I’m done in-sha-Allah I hope to take full advantage of every good gathering I possibly can and perform tahajjud regularly bi-ith-nillah.

May Allah (SWT) accept our sacrifices for His sake and grant us accomplishment. Ameen.
