Assalāmu ‘alaikum wa Rahmatullāh,

All praise and thanks are due to Allāh (SWT), who blessed us with the Glorious Qur’ān. Abundant salutations be upon our beloved teacher and role model, the first haafidh, Nabi Muhammad (SAW).

“I Wanna be a Haafidha Too” by Misk Women’s Academy is the most inspiring ebook I’ve come across on hifdh so I just had to share it!

It covers motivation from ahadith and scholars, including one of my absolute favourites:

The Prophet (ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“Verily, Allāh the Exalted has his own people among mankind…the people of the Qurʾān are the people of Allāh, and His chosen ones.”
Reported by Abu Dāwūd and Ibn Ḥibbān – Ṣaḥīḥ al-Jāmi‘ (6439)

This ebook also covers absolutely inspirational classical and contemporary female scholars of the Qur’an as well as exclusive interviews with qurraa and huffaadh.

I am amazed by Shaykhah Um al-Sa‘ad al-Iskandariyyah, rahmatullāhi alayhaa, who truly dedicated her life to the Qur’ān. She said:

“In 60 years of memorizing the Qurʾān, reciting it and reviewing it has caused me not to forget anything of it. I am able to recall any āyah (verse), its sūrah (chapter), its juz’, the āyahs similar to it, and all the different ways it is recited by all the qirā’āt … I do not know anything else but the Qurʾān and the qirā’āt. I never learned a science, listened to a lecture, or memorized anything other than the Qurʾān. Besides this, I know nothing else.”

Subhānallāh! May Allah (SWT) grant her Jannatul Firdous al-‘a’laa and help us to follow in her footsteps. Ameen.

Some of the greatest reminders I got from the featured haafidhāt were: how to protect yourself from Shaytaan; recite in salaah; make lotsa du’a and review, review, review!
